Big Month of Mark – Drive

Hold onto your boots, because Drive is the Greatest Movie EVER!

Review in a Nutshell:  Badly mishandled in its initial release, Drive is an American action movie with both a great sense of humor and a Hong Kong martial arts flair.  Condemned to obscurity by its producers, this film should have made Mark Dacascos and Steve Wang household names.

This movie contains:

FIST BOOTS.

Disgruntled cowboy hitmen with rocket launchers.

Fruity musical numbers.

COMING SOON!

More Mark Dacascos goodness in the month of November!

Oh how it warms my bones to hear about Marky D again.
Are you guys gonna review “DNA” or “Only the Strong”?

I used to have every Dacascos movie I could get my hands on, but have shamefully sold them.

Crying Freeman! please? Also I thought we had the month of Mark already?

Holy crap this looks awesome! Thanks for another fun and informative review guys.

(crosses fingers that “only the Strong” is the next movie reviewed)

Great episode! I’m always looking for new kung fu movies, and finding older ones that slipped me by is always a pleasant surprise. I’m going to have to track down a copy of this one.

Lately the only thing satisfying my appetite has been Donnie Yen and Wu Jing movies, but most movies now favor the “realism” opposed to unnecessarily-flowery-but-that’s-why-it’s-cool fight scene choreography.

I actually was of the opinion American movies NEVER have the master shot in their fight scenes, just going for the close-ups all the time. I’m always screaming at them “Wide shot! Please, wide shot!” I remember in “War” (puke) one of the last fight scenes was all close-ups, but I knew they actually had a wide shot because they used it in the trailer *shakes head*

Amazon has a “Drive Special Collectors Edition” in its listings…is that not what I want?

You want pistol-whipping? Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
